What’s up Buttercup is part of the inspired Wildflower Collection.
Buttercups, in my humble opinion, have to be one of the most unassuming wildflowers and yet the most endearing. Do you renenber picking them as a child and holding them under the chin of a friend or sibling to see if the person liked butter?? The things of childhood! And the way it glowed!! I remember clearly the mantra of ‘What’s Up Buttercup’ thrown around happily as I was growing up. It was a natural that the Buttercup would be included in the Wildflower Collection.
Following on from the theme that we are vessels of whatever we choose to fill ourselves with, this piece depicts us in our fresh, most beautiful and natural selves. The cup is cream and not white because we are warm and generous, curvy because we follow our path and can change direction, and perfectly imperfect in all our glory. We are filled with gold depicted by the Buttercups. The message in this piece is that we are all precious, we are all important, unique and amazing and this is the energy I wanted to portray with this piece. I also like a good pun…so the buttercups in a cup called buttercup seemed appropriate!
It is a happy piece, that I wish you to feel joy, abundance, a sense of freedom and adventure with, also a sense of self worth. We are all unique, we are all needed and we all are in this life together.
Thank you for considering What’s Up Buttercup and the Wildflower Collection.
