The Why

The brainchild of Founder, Claire Cummack, Red Lane Studio comes from an unwavering desire to make joyful connection through design.

The How

Utilising all the touchpoints of good design - colour, texture and pattern. Each product is created and simplified to it’s essence to ensure that pure connection through the three touchpoints are achieved.

The Non-negotiables

Natural Fabrics

Treading lightly is a foundational approach for all that we do, as are delicious textures that feed the soul and calm the mind. We select Natural linens and cottons as the first choice for all hand block printed products and original art fabric. 

Original and Unique

We believe that mass production is not good for the human spirit or the earth. Our product range stems from an original art work or lino cut by our Founder.

Each product is placed at random across the fabric ensuring, as far as possible, unique colour and placement for each of our products. This approach allows you to find your true expression within our product range.

Small Batch, No-Waste ethos supporting local business.

Our products go straight from our hand to yours - almost quite literally! 

Each fabric is commercially printed here in Melbourne using partners who are equally passionate about local manufacturing and ethical supply chains.

Block prints are all created by hand in our Melbourne Studio as is the sewing and finishing of all the products.

We actively seek to use small printing businesses within a 25km radius of the studio and this applies to all our paper print and art print products. 

No large stock volumes are held and we don’t add to fabric landfill. All left over parts within the production process are used in a range of no-waste products.
