Forget Me Not is the painting that inspired the Wildflower Collection.
We were travelling in Tasmania visiting my daughter, when we drove down a street where all along the side of the road was a meadow of Forget Me Nots. It literally took our breath away. I took so many photos, but I couldn’t capture the beauty, happiness, joyful freedom and abundance of that wildflower spread. I decided then and there I should paint it.
I believe we are all vessels of whatever we choose to hold. So the painting is a representation of us. The Vase (us) is represented in a perfectly imperfect way, patinaed by time and experiences. It is full of the Forget Me Knots representing abundance, joy, happiness and freedom, scewed to whichever direction we choose to take. The intricacy of the flowers represents all the facets of our life and how interconnected we all are. The bunch speaks to family, connection and togetherness.
It is a happy piece, that I wish you to feel joy, abundance, a sense of freedom and adventure with. Also, a sense of gathering together and holding with love, all those special people we have in our lives.
